A smart man once said ” we are limited by our boundaries”

Love life despite its obstacles,  appreciate yourself, and don’t forget to let go every once in a while 😉

Contemplating Life

Just wanted to share this picture with you. It was a sunny weekend and the weather was fantastic!

I was physically exhausted but  when I reached Lago di Martignano, I felt energized and alive 🙂

Sometimes, being away from the crowd and contemplating life in a peaceful, beautiful area, gives you perspective on life. We all need that to prioritize our time, ourselves, and our lives. Once we achieve that, we become unstoppable!

A wise man once said

“everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.”

The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

This semi-autobiography book easily became one of my favorite inspiring novel of all time! It is so inspiring and motivating to the point where it puts everyone “claiming to have a hard life” to shame. Alexie meshes tragedy with comedy and takes you through this emotional journey of  a struggling native indian teenager’s life, and obstacles (bullying, racisim, etc) he goes through to escape his world.

The book has its tragic moments where you instantly fall in love with Junior, the Native Indian teenager, however, it has its comedic moments too. I will not get into details but I STRONGLY recommend you read this book. You will not regret it.

Even though I know the novelist will not read my blog, however, I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for inspiring me to be a better version of myself.

The older, the grumpier?

A couple of days ago, my friend and I were discussing growing up and how we change with time. As we were having coffee, we discussed how our relationships with our friends changed with time. I have noticed that in my early twenties I have always went with my friends descisions. I have always did what they wanted me to do. Regardless of what I have felt. Now it is a whole different story. I am more comfortable with myself. I keep listening to what my heart and brain tell me. If I feel stressed or tired I would not do any favors or anything for anyone. Just to make sure that I don’t feel worse. Sue me for taking care of myself 😉 The older we get, the more assertive we become. That is what we have concluded from our lengthy discussion. Do you agree?

Writing a diary is HEALTHY!

Today at work, my colleagues and I had a very interesting discussion about writing diaries. One of my colleagues stated that it was healthy to write down your emotions for various reasons. Hours later, I decided to google some information on diaries, and I can gladly confirm that YES it is healthy to own/ write a diary.

Apparently, writing your feelings down releases some sort of stress and tension from your brain. As a consequence, most diseases that comes from bottling up your emotions, like depression disappears. Writing assists with regulating emotions unintentionally.

My advice of the day is keep writing! and for those who don’t write, START writing. Life is too short to be depressed 😉

The Prophet by Khalil Gibran

Gibran is one of those poets that I have heard of A LOT. I am embarrassed to say that I knew absolutely nothing about him except that he was originally from Lebanon. I have always thought that people where exaggerating when describing Gibran’s writings. That is probably why I was discouraged to read anything by him.

After years of ignorance, I have finally read The Prophet by Khalil Gibran. Now, I comprehend why people admire this poet.

Even though I am not a fan of reading poetry, I utterly fell in love with “The prophet”. Reading this book was like getting notes on how to live and appreciate life. Gibran dabbled on various daily life issues, such as love, work, joy and sorry, etc. His writing was incredibly unique. To me, it felt like Gibran possessed a magical pen. So whenever Gibran wrote something, it was like the ink was dripping talent and originality.

I find it extremely difficult to summarize this book.  Let me just say this, the book is timeless, and the poet is/was a genius!

Quote of the day!

“Once you learn to quit, it becomes a habit.” – Vince Lombardi

Basically, the message of the day is DO NOT QUIT. Only you can hold yourself back from achieving whatever you plan to achieve. It has been a while since l last posted something. I thought of sharing one of my favourite quotes with you 🙂

Ps. I apologize for not posting book reviews as I have been busy with studying Italian language, however, I am currently reading an interesting book. Can’t wait to share my thoughts with you 🙂
